What you notify / file
Notify: County superintendent (or county board of education); Written Notice of Intent (certified mail rec.) incl. child name/address/age, assurance of required subjects, instructor qualification evidence; On or before the date instruction begins; effective until move/cessation (not annual; new notice when moving counties).
Testing / evaluation
Nationally normed standardized test (≥4th stanine/23rd pct or improvement) by qualified person; portfolio reviewed by a certified teacher w/ narrative; or alternative assessment agreed with superintendent
Required subjects
Reading, language (arts), mathematics, science, social studies (assured in notice; covered by annual assessment)
