RUBY LOUAt-Home Learning

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

RubyLou At-Home Learning is operated by RubyLou Learning LLC (“RubyLou,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains how we handle information on learnwithrubylou.com, including our philosophy quiz, waitlist, and sample day.

Our sample day is a collection of prepared lessons for parents and guardians to explore with their learners. Your sample opens in your browser. We do not send your sample-day family details or journal notes to an AI service to generate lessons.

Questions or privacy requests? Contact hello@learnwithrubylou.com.

Information you provide

Sample access. We ask for a parent or guardian's email address to open the interactive sample day. We record the email address and that the request came from the sample-day form in our own access database, which is kept separate from our marketing subscriber list. Providing this email does not add you to marketing.

Optional marketing at sign-up. Below the email field there is an optional checkbox, unchecked by default, to also receive RubyLou updates. If you tick it, we use the same email address to start a marketing subscription with our email provider — this is separate from opening your sample, and you will receive a confirmation email to opt in (double opt-in). If you leave it unchecked, nothing is sent to our marketing list. We record your affirmative consent and where you signed up, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Details used inside your sample. Optional learner names, selected grades, your chosen philosophy blend, and journal notes are used within your browser to display the sample and prepare your printable packs. The sample does not include these details in its access-email request or upload your personalized packs to us. Refreshing or closing the page clears the sample's in-memory family details and notes. Copies you print or download remain wherever you save them, subject to your device and backup settings.

Philosophy quiz. The quiz uses your answers in your browser to show a suggested philosophy blend. You may view your results without submitting an email. If you choose to join the waitlist through the quiz's form, we receive your email address through our email provider's signup form. The form explains the subscription you are requesting before you submit it.

Waitlist and updates. If you separately choose to join our waitlist or subscribe to updates, we collect your email and information needed to record and manage your subscription, such as the signup source, confirmation, and unsubscribe status.

Messages to us. If you contact us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid including sensitive information about a child unless it is necessary for your request.

Technical information and browser storage

Our hosting and security services process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages, and browser or device information.

The sample stores a simple access flag in your browser's session storage so you do not need to repeat the email step during that browser session. This flag does not contain your email, learner names, or journal notes. Clearing the site's browser storage removes it.

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand website visits and loading performance. These tools provide aggregate traffic and performance information, including pages, referrers, general location, and browser or device characteristics. Their analytics do not use third-party tracking cookies. This does not mean every service used by the website is cookie-free.

Some pages load fonts from Google, which receives the technical information necessary to deliver those files. Signup forms that use Google reCAPTCHA also process technical and interaction information to distinguish ordinary visitors from automated abuse. Third-party signup and verification pages may use their own cookies and similar technologies.

Our email provider records delivery and subscription events. Its email features may also measure opens and link clicks when that tracking is enabled. Such measurements are associated with the recipient and are separate from our aggregate website analytics.

How we use information

The sample-access step does not automatically enroll you in the waitlist. We do not use learner names or journal notes from the sample to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers and disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, protect people's rights or safety, or investigate misuse of our services. Our providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate, subject to applicable requirements.

Links to external sources or provider-hosted pages take you to services with their own privacy practices.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the request, any ongoing relationship, security needs, and applicable legal requirements.

Sample-access records are used for the access request and related service administration, not kept indefinitely merely to build a marketing audience. Marketing records are retained while a subscription is active; we may keep a limited record of an unsubscribe request so we can continue to honor it. Correspondence is kept as needed to address the matter and maintain appropriate business records.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it through our normal processes. Some information may remain for a limited period in provider backups, security records, or records we need to retain for legal reasons. You may ask us about retention or request deletion at the contact address below.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can use a nickname or leave the optional learner-name field blank. You can choose not to use the interactive sample if you do not want to submit an email. You can take the philosophy quiz and view its results without submitting an email.

You can unsubscribe from marketing through the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. An unsubscribe request does not remove files you already downloaded or printed.

Contact hello@learnwithrubylou.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or ask about a privacy concern. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or use an authorized agent. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or authority, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. Where an appeal right applies, you may appeal our decision by replying to us and asking for a review. You may also contact the relevant privacy authority.

Children and family information

The website's forms are intended for parents and guardians. The static sample does not create child accounts or ask children to submit email addresses. Parents can use it with their learners; optional learner names and journal notes entered in the sample remain in the browser as described above.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly to us without appropriate authorization, contact hello@learnwithrubylou.com so we can review and address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as RubyLou changes. We will publish the updated policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. This policy describes the current website and static sample; additional services may require additional disclosures before you use them.
